At Sweet Dreamz, we help families move from exhaustion to ease with gentle, evidence-based sleep support. Our approach is built on compassion, understanding, and realistic strategies that fit real family life.
The story behind Sweet Dreamz and why sleep has been my lifelong passion.
It began in 2007, not with a grand plan, but with a leaflet discovered at the bottom of a box.
I had recently joined a national disability charity when I came across a simple piece of marketing for something called Sleep Solutions, promoting just two volunteer sleep practitioners working alone in Somerset. What struck me immediately wasn’t what the leaflet said, but what it revealed: those two practitioners were completely overwhelmed. Families were being referred faster than they could help them. The need was enormous but limited support existed to meet the demand.
I instantly saw an opportunity for something much bigger … a national sleep service. I undertook some research and there was simply nothing like it available. So, I decided to build it.
I threw myself into further research, forged a pioneering partnership between the charity, Sleep Scotland and Solent NHS, trained as a certified Sleep Practitioner and then set about developing individual Sleep Services across England, commissioned and funded by local authorities, each one staffed by two to four certified sleep practitioners. At its peak, I was heading a national service of certified sleep practitioners, providing direct support to families of children and young people with complex sleep difficulties and disabilities.
It was the first service of its kind in the country … and it changed lives.
When a child doesn’t sleep, nobody sleeps. The ripple effect spreads through the whole family … affecting mental health, emotional wellbeing, relationships, behaviour and even a child’s ability to learn and concentrate. I have seen this up close, again and again, throughout my career. And I have seen what happens when the right support arrives. Sweet Dreamz is grounded in the latest research and built on tried and tested evidence-based practice.
That is why Sweet Dreamz exists. Not simply to help children sleep, but to give whole families their lives back.
Better sleep improves concentration & memory
Rest transforms emotional wellbeing for the whole family
Sleep impacts how we connect with the people we love
Rested children thrive — at home and at school
With over 25 years of working with children, young people, and families, I have never been content to observe a need without doing something about it. It is who I am … innovative, creative, resourceful and solution-focused. When I see a need, I act. When I meet a family who is struggling, I find a way to help.
Being a Sleep Practitioner doesn’t feel like a job. It’s an opportunity to make a real difference, to support exhausted parents and carers and to change lives for the better.
The beliefs and commitments that guide everything we do at Sweet Dreams
At Sweet Dreamz, my values aren’t just words on a page … they are the foundation of every conversation, every sleep plan and every family I support. They reflect who I am and what I have learnt across 25 years of practice and the kind of service every family deserves.
I know that families who come to me are often exhausted, overwhelmed and in need of reassurance as much as solutions. I meet every family with kindness, empathy and zero judgement … because feeling heard is the first step to feeling better.
Everything I do is grounded in the latest sleep science and research. I translate complex evidence into practical, manageable steps that real families can follow … because good intentions aren’t enough without the knowledge to back them up.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to sleep. Every child, every family and every set of circumstances is different. I take the time to truly understand your child’s individual needs before creating a plan that works for your family … not someone else’s.
Sleep difficulties do not discriminate … and neither do I. Sweet Dreamz is proud to support children and young people of all abilities, including those with SEND and complex needs, from newborn through to 25 years. Every child deserves the chance to sleep well.
I work alongside families, not above them. My role is to guide, support and empower … not to dictate. I build genuine, trusting relationships with the families I support and collaborate with other professionals, schools and health services where it benefits the child.
When I see a need, I find a way to meet it. I am always looking for better, smarter and more effective ways to support families … drawing on decades of experience, ongoing training and a genuine passion for making a difference.
The science of sleep is always evolving, and so am I. I am committed to continuing professional development, keeping my knowledge and practice current, relevant and aligned with the safest and most effective guidelines available.
I never lose sight of the bigger picture. Better sleep doesn’t just mean quieter nights … it means improved mental health, stronger relationships, better behaviour and brighter futures for children and their families. That is what drives me every single day.
You will never feel alone in this journey. I will be honest, kind and consistent … and we will always put your child and your family at the heart of everything I do. Sweet Dreamz isn’t just a service. It’s a commitment.
At Sweet Dreamz, my mission is simple … to ensure that no family has to keep running on empty or face sleepless nights alone. I believe that every child deserves restful, restorative sleep and that every parent and carer deserves the support, tools and confidence to make that possible … without stress, guilt or confusion.
Founded on over 25 years of experience working with children, young people, and families across health, education, and social care, Sweet Dreamz exists to bridge the gap between need and support.
I provide compassionate, evidence-based sleep consultancy for children and young people, including those with SEND and complex needs … delivered with warmth, expertise and a genuine commitment to changing lives. This structured process ensures you receive clear, practical and manageable guidance every step of the way.
Because when a child sleeps well, the whole family thrives.
